Parker is the founder and head brewer of Elusive Brewing, with the brewery and a taproom based in Finchampstead. His own love of beer and brewing developed from homebrewing, and he continues to actively champion the vibrant British scene.

The book is co authored by Parker and Jamil Zainasheff - a renowned homebrewer, author, beer judge, and host of ‘The Jamil Show’ and ‘Brew Strong’ shows on The Brewing Network. It’s a hands-on, practical guide to the most up-to-date techniques, ingredients, equipment and processes for producing professional quality beer at home.

Ideal for both curious beginners and the most seasoned homebrewers wanting to experience a new challenge, this ultimate guide to homebrewing features many world-class recipes from around the globe. Each chapter features a QR code link to videos, calculators, and other links to valuable brewing resources.

Parker adds “The book is designed to be a really practical guide, whether you are new to homebrewing or you’re a seasoned homebrewer looking for some inspiration. I’m incredibly passionate about homebrewing and would urge anyone with an interest in beer to give it a go. It’s been a really rewarding hobby for me that has now turned into a career I love, and you just never know where it might take you!”

Many of today’s most popular independent brewers first started their career path into the industry as homebrewing hobbyists, and it is hoped that CAMRA’s new guide will inspire the next generation of brewing talents.

The two authors of The Modern Homebrewer are prime examples of award-winning homebrewers who turned their passion into a profession.

Parker’s homebrewing roots have served him well. Elusive Brewing’s flagship beer Oregon Trail West Coast IPA was awarded UK’s Best IPA at the 2021 World Beer Awards, and Andy himself was named the British Guild of Beer Writers Brewer of the Year in 2022. Elusive Brewing has a taproom at the brewery at Hogwood Industrial Estate, Wokingham which is open every weekend.
